About

In 1962 William Loughrin Sr. moved to Washington from Montana in search of a better life for his family. 10 years later, after working as an accountant in Seattle, he built a complex on a small plot of land in Edmonds that would become the home of his new accounting business, Loughrin & Company CPAs.
By 1990 his son, William Loughrin Jr., had grown into a fine young accountant and took over the family business, which he has owned and operated ever since. While the employees have changed over the years the genuine warm family feeling of Loughrin & Company has forever remained the same.
Today, Loughrin & Co. serves clients across the globe while still maintaining a friendly neighborhood environment. It offers an array of quality, person to person services custom tailored to the unique circumstances of each of its clients.

People

Chris Weinhold,

CPA

chris@loughrin.com

Chris comes to the world of public accounting following extensive stints in both ministry and residential construction. He has been campus staff for Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship in

New England and an associate pastor in Pennsylvania. He first came to the Northwest in 1999 and has enjoyed doing high end custom remodels for several general contractors as well as running his own contracting business. He returned to school in 2012 to complete a BS in Accounting from Central Washington University to go along with a much earlier BA from Harvard University and an MDiv. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Chris understands the pressures on small business owners and his pursuit of a career in public accounting stems from his desire to alleviate some of those pressures by providing quality accounting and tax services to small business owners so they can concentrate on what they are in business to do.

Chris and his wife, Janice, have lived in Lynnwood since 2002. They enjoy cooking, entertaining, and spending as much time as possible with their grandkids. Chris continues to use his carpentry skills on house projects and on an ‘awesome’ tree house for the grandkids!

Bill Loughrin,

Owner, CPA

bill@loughrin.com

The man with his name on the building, Bill carries on the tradition of his father, Bill Sr. When he was 2 years old he moved from Montana to

Woodway  and grew up watching his father build the business he would one day take over. After graduation from the old Woodway High School, Bill worked in bars and restaurants in the Seattle area and Salt Lake City before attending the University of Washington where he graduated with a degree in accounting. Afterwards, he returned to Edmonds and began working at the family business, taking over primary ownership from Bill Sr. in 1997. He lives on in memory of his father who died from Leukemia in May 2001.

Bill's friends know him for his love of hamburgers and bicycling. He also can be found tearing up squash courts at the local athletic club when not busy at the office. He currently lives in Edmonds with his wife, Kelli, and lives vicariously through the adventures of his children, Brooke and Will.

Jan Middleton,

Bookkeeper

jan@loughrin.com

The first thing one sees when arriving at Loughrin & Company is the welcoming face of Jan Middleton. As our receptionist and bookkeeper she is responsible for directing clients

and managing accounts, but as one of the most senior members of the staff, she makes sure the whole office runs smoothly. Prior to joining Loughrin & Company in October 2010, Jan worked off-and-on bookkeeping jobs for most of her career, but has also worked as a ski instructor and brings many years of experience as a realtor.

Jan is a true Washingtonian having grown up in Bremerton. Today she makes the commute to Edmonds from Marysville where she lives on a farm with over 130 wool-producing alpacas. She has raised three gifted children and for now only has one grandchild, although she hopes for more.

Virginia Goldman,

Virginia has worked for Loughrin & Compancy since December 2015 but has a long and vibrant history that she takes pride in. For a while she worked as a legal secretary, but after working part

time at an accounting firm on Mercer Island during tax season she changed her career path and became an enrolled agent in 1997. She is excited to be able to represent United States citizens anywhere in the world. She has a longer history in accounting however, dating back to 1978 when she purchased an apple orchard in Pateros, Washington and assumed responsibility for payroll, bookkeeping, management, and other office duties related to the farm.

Growing up on a farm in Eastern Washington, Virginia never lost the spirit of her home, even after moving to the West in 1985. Today she lives in Kirkland with her husband and has 3 boys and 7 (soon to be 8!) grandchildren. She spends time outside of work on her hobbies, her favorite being sewing. Jessy Sterling,

Bookkeeper

jessy@loughrin.com

Jessy's professional history as a bookkeeper began at 16 years old when she transferred her father's hardwood flooring business onto quickbooks from an

old accounting program. After 15 years of bookkeeping for various companies, she ran her own business for 5 years until her babies got older and she decided she preferred to be in an office environment. This brought her to Loughrin & Company in December 2019. Jessy describes her job as "backing up the CPAs to make their lives easier," and she loves the sense of accomplishment when a file is off her desk.

Jessy is born and raised in Shoreline. She is a mother of 4 and proud to say that she put herself through the two year accounting program at Edmonds Community College while raising her kids. She takes every moment possible to make memories with her kids, along with her two Yorkies, and to find moments of sleep amid the hustle and bustle of motherhood.

In Memoriam

Members and friends of the Loughrin family were devastated by the loss of our beloved Kelly Lee Ann Loughrin-Billings in January of 2019. She started as an employee of her father's company in 1986 and stayed a core part of office life until her last days. Kelly was a living tradition of the close client relationships maintained by her father. She managed the majority of Loughrin & Company's restaurant accounts along with our oldest and largest construction client, but it is her glimmer in the daily life of the office that is missed most of all.

No one could deny Kelly's innate ability to make others feel at ease, and with the great sadness that comes with her departure from this world, the way she made us feel will never go away. Rest in Peace, Kel. We Love You.
